a word on the images

The images you view on Plateau's Light are all derived from 35mm transparencies, and are all actual representations of the subject (I do not believe in a large amount of manipulation of an image that greatly changes the original image). There are in some cases however, some enhancements to the image. These enhancements are either through filters used while taking the image, or through a small amount of digital manipulation whereby an image is "cleaned-up". If this is applicable to an image, I have completely divulged all enhancements in the image notes for your information.

Due to scanning limitations; cropping has occurred from the original transparencies. In some cases, some important details to the composition have been lost. It is regrettable this is the case, however, feel free to inquire with me what details are missing from a particular image you might have an interest in. Furthermore, the resolution of the scans are very low, therefore each scanned image is not an exact representation of the transparency with regard to sharpness, color etc.

I realize in today's world of photography, spirited and never-ending debates occur on the choice of film vs. digital, on the validity of digital manipulation etc. Because of this and without showing any bias toward either film or digital or digital manipulation; I do feel it is important however, to be very explicit regarding my images, whether enhancements of any kind have been exercised. Because in the end, what is most important to me is to capture as true as an image of the subject as possible so that my guarantee to you is it's an accurate representation of what I saw at that moment in time and that any enhancements made to the image were minor, if at all.
